54: Visual Your Organized Office: Guided Meditation
===
Welcome to episode 54 of Permission to be Messy I'm your host, JoAnn Krall and today I'm providing you with another guided meditation and this one is around visualizing your organized office. Now I know the woo of guided meditations and thinking about paper and digital just doesn't seem to make sense.
But this is really who I am. I'm that practical accountant that wants your files to be in order so that you can get more things done and feel more at peace. And again, that peace piece of me is the spiritual piece.
I got a lot of great feedback when I did this, way in the beginning when I started the podcast about, you know, visualizing your organized space. And I thought, you know what, just before tax time, this might be something to be really helpful. If you feel it been feeling a lot of stress. Around getting things prepared or just a lot of everyday stress about your information.
This can really help. it's not for everybody, but I hope you enjoy it. And of course always the disclaimer, please don't listen to this while you're driving. Make sure that you stop, pull over or save it for later. In fact, this could be a really good guided meditation to either fall asleep to, or to start your day with. Okay. Let's begin.
Find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down. And gently close your eyes. Begin by taking a deep breath in through your nose. Filling your lungs with air. And exhale slowly through your mouth. Letting go of any tension you may be holding on to. Repeat this a few times. Allowing each breath. To relax your further.
Now, bring your attention to the paper and digital clutter that may be weighing on your mind. Visualize those stacks of papers, overflowing folders. And that inbox filled with unread emails. Instead of feeling overwhelmed. Imagine a soft, warm light surrounding the clutter. This light represents your inner strength. And ability to bring order to chaos.
As you continue to breathe deeply. Imagine yourself standing in your office. Surrounded by the clutter. I feel the ground beneath your feet. Grounding you and providing stability. With each breath feel a sense of calm and clarity wash over you. Now begin to sort through the paper clutter with ease and grace. See yourself organizing the piles. Filing away important documents and recycling or shredding, what you no longer need. Trust your instincts and know that you have the wisdom to make the right choices. As you declutter notice how each paper you file away or discard lightens your load, both physically and mentally. Feel a sense of relief and freedom with each decision you make. Knowing that you were creating a space for productivity and creativity to flow.
Next turn your attention to your digital clutter. Visualize your computer, desktop cluttered with icons. Your email inbox overflowing with the unread messages. And your digital files scattered across multiple folders and places. With the same ease and grace begin to organize your digital space. Deleting unnecessary files. Organizing folders and responding to, or archiving emails.
Take a moment to reflect on why the clutter may have accumulated in your office. Both in paper and digital form. Are there any underlying habits or beliefs that are contributing to this mess?
Allow yourself to acknowledge them without judgment. And then gently released them, knowing that you were capable of creating a more organized and efficient workspace. Now shift your focus to the present moment. Let go of any guilt or self criticism you may have had about the clutter. Remind yourself that it's okay to have clutter from time to time. And that you have the power to clean it up and create a more streamlined and productive workspace. Visualize your office space is clean. Organized and conducive to productivity. See yourself sitting at your desk. Focused and inspired with everything you need at your fingertips. Feel a deep sense of gratitude for your ability to create the environment you desire. And when you're ready. Slowly begin to bring your awareness back to the room. Wiggle your fingers and toes stretch your body gently and take one final deep breath in filling yourself with gratitude and positivity. As you exhale slowly, open your eyes and return to the present moment. Carrying with you a sense of calm and clarity that will support you throughout your Workday.
I hope you enjoyed that. I will create a download with just this meditation. And you can look for the link in the show notes to get that. If this is something that you think you might want to use on a daily basis. But as always, I'm wishing you much progress, peace, purpose, and the permission to be messy. Thanks for listening.
